easy to use user interface
Easy to learn user interface with ribbon technology allows you to get started CNC programming in a few minutes. The CNC tool bar guides you nearly automatically in only 6 steps from CAD to CNC file. Example files, movies and training sheets provide guide lines for starters and advanced users.

advanced repair functions
Even complex CAD data with some 100.000 elements are analyzed and repaired in a small amount of time. For faulty data with gaps, intersections, overlapping or identical elements CAGILA offers advanced repair functions which are able to repair gaps and intersections that can't be handled with normal trim / stretch functions.
curve conversion and optimization
A special highlight of CAGILA is the curve conversion and optimization. Geometric data from external CAD systems often consists of curves (splines, ellipses, polylines, etc.) which can be converted by CAGILA into CNC adapted tangential arcs and element reduced lines:

Splines and ellipses can be converted in CNC adapted tangential arcs. In a preview dialog the custom parameters can be evaluated showing the curve approximation and number of elements.

Polylines can be converted into CNC adapted arcs by arc recognition function to generate smoother curves with less elements. The preview shows additionally the reduction of elements which may be useful for older CNC controllers with less memory.
automatic recognition of identical contours
For easy set up of leads and to reduce size of CNC code CAGILA provides automatic recognition of identical contours which can be processed as sub program files on the CNC controller.
3D processing
The CAGILA 3D module supports 2 to 5 axis programming of 3D CAD data. Tool path and laser beam orientation is directly extracted from the 3D CAD data model. In addition to NC programming with laser tool heads also scanners are supported (e.g. ablation of 3D CAD data by slicing). CAGILA provides import interfaces for native 3D formats like SolidWorks®, Autodesk® Inventor®, NX® (Siemens PLM), Unigraphics®, Pro/ENGINEER®, CATIA®, Solid Edge®, Parasolid®, ACIS® as well as standard formats like STEP, IGES, VDA-FS.

multi segment technology
An innovative feature in CAGILA is the Multi segment technology, which provides easy segmentation of contours with multiple lead-ins and lead-outs. By simple mouse click, contours can be divided into an arbitrary number of single cuts, allowing multiple processing in arbitrary processing order.
automatic recognition of repeated process sequences
Complex parts with a lot of contours have to be processed sometimes in a periodically sequence. Such repeated process sequences are recognized by CAGILA automatically and be copied easily.
Innovative functions
CAGILA provides high speed perforation / drilling of faces as well as an intelligent path planning for parallel processing of large contours by several lasers (e.g. cutting of filters from a textile coil by 4 laser scanners).

highly optimized CNC post processor
The CNC post processor is highly optimized for the CNC controller using variables, CNC loops functions and different cutting strategies like special processing of small radii or contours. Laser radius compensation is calculated on the fully prepared drawing, enabling easy switching to a different machine if necessary.
CNC simulation
CAGILA's CNC simulation module provides graphically analysis and reconversion of existing CNC files. The bi-directional interface enables the user to identify individual drawing elements in the CNC-code, with the option of manual editing provides full control over the result.

A customizable report can be generated for each job, making documenting as easy as a mouse click.

TrueType Fonts (TTF)
CNC adapted preparation of Windows TrueType Fonts (TTF) is normally a time consuming problem. CAGILA offers a TTF font module for direct input of text in the desired font, which will be converted into CNC adapted tangential arcs and lines.
4 axis - tube wrapper
CAGILA features a module for simultaneous 4-axis processing, designed especially for offset tube cutting. The user interface remains the 2D unfolding, allowing automated or interactive definition of the attack angles.
The 4-axis postprocessor includes kinematic and technical process validation for all contours. A 3D Open-GL CNC simulation provides graphical analysis of the CNC program file showing the tube, laser head and bushing.
CNC analyzer
While conventional programming systems are limited to exporting CNC programs, the CNC Analyzer can import the motion paths actually made by the machine (e.g. Aerotech A3200). Differences between CAD-drawing, desired CNC paths and the actually realized motion paths can be analyzed and visualized by selection of allowed deviation.
part wizard
The Part Wizard handles the generation and modification of complete part families in a matter of seconds. The simple drag and drop interface allows you to easily combine basic objects to generate complex parametric designs.
nesting
The high performance nesting module yields excellent results for material saving parts placement on arbitrarily shaped materials, including circular blanks and sheets with surface defects.
The parquet nester is optimized for single part placement problems. Doing best results for single part nesting also the parquet nester saves time and material.
raster vector
CAGILA provides a module for the fully automatic conversion of raster graphics (BMP files) into vector data suitable for CNC programming. The module features several functions for the preparation of raster graphics, including the recognition of either contour shapes or skeletons in the bitmap and converting them into optimized lines and circular arc elements. The optional filling and hatching functions can be used for engraving, ablation and deposition processing.
